The Conspiracy to Murder trial against the Qaranivalu, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata and seven others resumes this morning in the Suva High Court with other Prosecution witnesses to take the stand.

Defence Counsel Iqbal Khan made an application yesterday saying that he wanted prosecution witness, Major Isireli Narawa to be cross examined first as he had information that was crucial to the case.

However, Judge Justice Paul Madigan rejected the application stating that Narawa is sick for the next 4 days and the trial will proceed.

Justice Madigan said the hearing should proceed as the eight accused have been waiting for some time and the cross examination of Narawa can be done upon his return.

Khan accepted the ruling and asked for an adjournment as he needed time to instruct his eight clients.

Ratu Inoke, along with Feoko Gadekibau, Barbados Mills, Sivaniolo Naulago, Metuisela Mua, Eparama Waqatairewa, Kaminieli Vosavere and Pauliasi Ramulo are charged with allegedly conspiring to murder Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Former Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry.

The case resumes at 9am.
