The Fiji men and women's Hockey sides have received a major boost ahead of their World Hockey League round 2 qualifiers after Consort Shipping today assisted the team with $10,000.

Consort Shipping founder and owner Leo Barry Smith said while handing over the cheque he knows how difficult it is for a minor sport like hockey to raise money and members to pay for their travels.

Fiji mens hockey coach Hector Smith said the assistance has come at the right time and despite the financial constraints Smith is confident that all the players will be able to travel to India.

The Fiji Women's and Mens Hockey teams leave for India next Thursday and will play their first match against India on the 14th of this month.
