Women have always played an active role in peace building and this is something various governments should consider in relation to policy making roles.
femLINKPACIFIC Executive Director Sharon Bhagwan Rolls said the one week meeting of the Regional Steering Group meeting of Pacific members belonging to global partnership for prevention of armed conflict, is aimed at finding ways to strengthen the role of women in policy decision making in regards to peace building.
Rolls said history shows that women have always played a vital role in peace building.
The meeting continues in Suva at the Peninsula Hotel today.
