The former opposition leader has called on the Pacific Island Leaders to consider first the people of Fiji and not the interest of the interim government.
Mick Beddoes said the Interim government does not represent the people here and the leaders should take that into consideration.
Meanwhile, Beddoes has also described the Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry's suggestion as nonsense who has said that it will be difficult to hold elections this year.
Beddoes said that an election can be held at the end of this year or early next year.
Meanwhile, in a Radio New Zealand Interview, Tonga Prime Minister Dr Feleti Seveli said at the end of the day it’s up to the people of Fiji on when they want elections adding that the Pacific Island Leader's Forum decision to threaten the interim government with partial suspension from the Forum if it does not set a election date by May 1st, was made on a consensus basis among the members.
