A 23 year old man was today sentenced to three years nine months imprisonment by the Suva Magistrates Court for obtaining money on forged documents.

Tomasi Kolinitoga had pleaded guilty to 36 counts of forging documents and obtaining money by false pretense.

Kolinitoga, a former member of the Territorial Forces, forged ANZ and Colonial National bank withdrawal slips and obtained more than $5,375 from two individuals who were serving with the peacekeeping mission in East Timor.

The incident took place between 10th January to 6th September, 2006.

While handing down the sentence, Magistrate Amani Rokotinaviti said it appeared that Kolinitoga had been blinded by the greed of wanting to get rich and the love for money.
