Methodist church officials are hoping that Commissioner of Police Esala Teleni will grant them a permit to hold a conference but on a smaller scale.
Assistant General Secretary, Reverend Tevita Nawadra said they met with Commissioner Teleni yesterday and he said Teleni has assured them that he will inform them about the permit request today.
They plan to have the conference from 30th August to the 4th September.
