The Confederation of Public Sector Unions has called off their national strike after an agreement was signed with the Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune this afternoon.

The agreement which was endorsed by a Cabinet sub committee includes that one percent of the fiver percent pay cut will be restored across the board of reduction from the time it was reduced and it will be paid in December before Christmas.

However the restoration of the balance of 4 percent will be discussed later and the time line for restoration will be negotiated prior to the delivery of the National Budget in 2008.

Interim Minister for Public Service, Poseci Bune said the Unions have now withdrawn the notice of industrial action.
