The terms and conditions that guide the employment of un-established government employees are being reviewed.

This has been confirmed by PSC permanent secretary Parmesh Chand at the opening of the consultative session, on the conditions and the rules of employment for government wage earners, yesterday.

Chand said these terms and conditions are being reviewed so that it could be aligned to the State Services Decree and government's Strategic Framework for Change.

He added civil service reforms are an integral part of the mandate of government adding the PSC is taking a lead role in formulating, seeking necessary approvals and overseeing the implementation of these reforms.

He also said every government wage earner must be able to fully contribute to a quality working environment.

The consultative meeting was facilitated by the Public Service Commission and more than 30 participants from various ministries and departments were in attendance.
