As a Tropical Depression slowly moves towards the Fiji group, the Nadi Weather Office is calling on people to take precautions as the system is likely to develop into a Tropical Cyclone over the weekend.
Weather Officer Director Rajendra Prasad said while the system remains slow moving, conditions are favorable for it to develop further into a Tropical Cyclone.
Prasad said the system is expected over Vanua Levu by tomorrow and people living in low lying areas in the northern and eastern divisions can expect flooding.
He stresses that people must take heed of the precautions as the system could develop very rapidly.
