Serious concerns are being raised on the safety of the Public Works department workers and FEA workers carrying out upgrade works along the roads around the country.
Works Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said drivers are putting the lives of these workers at risk by not adhering to the speed limits in the areas were upgrade works are being carried out.
She said several times, the workers have had to jump off the road sides to save themselves from these reckless drivers.
Waqainabete stressed that the upgrade works are being done to ease the flow of traffic in the future and are urging drivers and members of the public for their cooperation.
