Concerns are being raised on the poor service provided by local airline, Air Fiji.

Passengers travelling to and from Labasa to Nausori were stranded and frustrated yesterday as there were no flights available however people were booked on and had paid for their fares.

Speaking to Fijivillage, some passengers said they were booked on the first flight yesterday however they had to wait for a few hours and were told by Air Fiji personnel to return to their respective destinations as flights had been delayed up to midday.

They said Air Fiji called passengers at around 1pm to make their way to the airport by 4pm as the Air Fiji aircraft would depart after 5pm.

However, when the passengers arrived at the airport, to their frustration the Air Fiji again told them that due to technical faults, the aircraft had not arrived and they would be travelling on the first flight today or alternative arrangements would be made with Pacific Sun.

They said they may lose out on their pay if they are unable to get to work today.  

Speaking to Fijivillage, Air Fiji personnel said there are currently making arrangements to ensure these passengers are transported to their respective destinations this morning.
