Serious concerns have been raised on the number of breakdowns at the four sugar mills during this crushing season.
Sugar Cane Growers Council Chief Executive, Sundresh Chetty said the mills encountered numerous breakdowns this year and the repair works would take a number of days.
Chetty said the farmers have raised their concerns also to them.
He added they are liaising with the Fiji Sugar Corporation to see that minimum disruption is done to the operation of the mills.
Meanwhile, a FSC Board meeting will take place in Suva today.
Permanent Secretary for Sugar, Manasa Vaniqi has confirmed that the meeting will take place following a cabinet meeting where reports on sugar industry will be discussed.
