Police are concerned with the increase in the number of taxi drivers being robbed in recent days.

A taxi driver was robbed yesterday by two men who hired him from Nasese to Vatuwaqa.

Upon reaching Vatuwaqa, the two then robbed the driver, tied him up and locked him the boot.

The two then drove the taxi to Kinoya where they threw the driver who managed to free himself and reported the matter to police.

The taxi was found abandoned in Newtown with all its items missing.

The driver received some injuries and was treated and sent home.
