Rewa Chief, Ro Filipe Tuisawau has raised concern on the view of The Citizen's Constitutional Forum and its report to the UN Convention of Elimination of Racial Discrimination in Geneva.

Ro Filipe questions CCF Director, Rev Akuila Yabaki on why he wants to change the policies and constitution of the Great Council of Chiefs which mainly deals with the interest of the Indigenous Fijian people.

Respect is not given on a platter. It needs to be earned.

This is the comment of the Citizens constitutional Forum Director, Reverend Akuila Yabaki to questions raised on the stand of the Forum and its report to the UN Convention of Elimination of Racial Discrimination in Geneva.

However, Reverend Yabaki says it is time Fiji Institution move with time.

Yesterday, former politician of Nawaka village Ponipate Lesavua said the GCC should be respected as they are made up of high chiefs and if other races are to come in and be part of GCC it will tarnish the real value and respect of its culture and tradition which is known for.

Rev Yabaki earlier mentioned if Fiji want to do away with race, then the review should start from major Fijian institutions like NLTB and Great council of chiefs

In a report Yabaki earlier mentioned that the two Fijian institutions, the Great Council of Chiefs and the Native Land Trust Board should be reviewed.
