A 49-year-old woman who is serving time behind bars pleading guilty to two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses in the Suva Magistrates court this morning.

The court heard that Rukmani obtained a total $13,900 after she put an advertisement in the dailies that she could arrange for marriage to overseas partners for two unsuspecting clients who fell into her trap.

However, after obtaining the money, Rukmani kept making excuses for the delays and the two clients then reported the matter to police.

She pleaded guilty and will be sentenced next Wednesday. Rukmani is currently serving an 18 month prison sentence for a similar offence and was sentenced in May this year.
