With an average of three to four complaints received about lawyers, the Independent Legal Services Commission will ensure that client’s complaints are dealt with fairly.
These are the words of Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at the official launch of the Commission today.
He said before all complaints regarding lawyers were dealt with by their own peers in the Fiji Law Society, however now the Commission will give an independent view of complaints lodged against lawyers.
Commissioner John Connors said to date they have made a judgment in regards to a complaint against a lawyer with more case still being looked into.
