The Fiji Law Society is currently dealing with a number of complaints lodged by members of the public against legal practioners.

Law Society President Isireli Fa confirmed to Fijivillage that there are some serious allegations leveled against lawyers and they are dealing with the cases. He said some lawyers face disciplinary action.

Fa adds that while the number of complaints seems to be consistent with previous years so far, averaging around 100 a year, they are speeding up the process.

Meanwhile, the Law Society also confirms that due to the backlog of complaints, they are yet to deal with the complaint lodged against the Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed KHiayum for allegedly taking an illegal oath.
