Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority is now investigating a local company that was trying to send 26 undeclared gold bars overseas.
Chief executive officer Jitoko Tikolevu said the export consignment was detained by Customs earlier this week.
The total weight of the gold bars is 2.3 kilograms.
Tikolevu said the company made a false declaration.
He said they are now looking at prosecuting and penalizing the company concerned.
