Companies wanting to fish in the qoliqoli area of the Macuata province will now be required to pay a $20,000 license fee.
Tui Macuata, Ratu Aisea Katonivere said the decision has been made by each tikina and the Fisheries Ministry has also been notified on the matter.
Ratu Aisea said they have increased the levy based on the World Wide Fund for Nature findings.
