The Department of Lands and Mineral Resources is now looking for a suitable company to take over the operations of the Vatukoula Gold Mines.
The Director Mines is now calling for expressions of interest for companies to apply to take over the mine operations.
This comes just days after it was revealed that the final decision was about to be reached between the interim cabinet and mining company, Westec to take over the operations in Vatukoula.
According to Westec Director, Brian Wessan, they were just about to move ahead to takeover the operations of the mine but are now in the dark on why the Interim Government is now looking for other companies.
