More than 1000 needy children from around the country are expected to benefit from $120 000 donated by two companies to Foundation for the Education of Needy Children.

The Treasurer of the board of Trustees Raj Sharma revealed at a press conference this afternoon that they received the timely donation from the J.W Holdings Limited and Sigatoka Electric Limited.

He said this money will be used to buy books, bags, shoes and stationary through vouchers for the students and will be given to the schools where children need it the most.

The Foundation will be officially launched in Suva by the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama tomorrow evening.
