As part of the mental health celebrations this month, the Valelevu Community will be undergoing mental health education starting from today.
The celebrations are being carried out by the Health Ministry, St Giles Hospital and Youth Champ organization will be held throughout this month with the focus on "mental health, chronic and physical illnesses, and the need for continued and integrated care in our community".
Chairperson of Strategic health communication group Litia Veitata said the highlight of the celebrations is the community open day at St Giles Psychiatric Hospital on the 23rd of this month where the 2010 defending champions of the FM96 Tadra Kahani, Lomary Secondary school will feature their winning portrayal of fighting mental stigma.
She added that the celebrations this month is also to raise awareness on looking after ones mental health.
The celebrations this month include a mural painting at St Giles Hospital starting from this week, a stress less day in Suva on the 21st and a community open day at St Giles on the 23rd.
