The Chairman of the Naitasiri Provincial Council said the use of the word Fijian as a common name for all citizens of Fiji is a non-issue.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Ilaitia Tuisese said to this day the issue of a common name has never been an issue with the Indigenous Fijians, but now the Draft People's Charter has opened up an issue that will cause further problems.

Tuisese added that relationships between the different races have always been friendly and doesn't understand the need to have this issue raised.
