The Commissioner Northern’s Office is carting water to the areas affected by the current dry weather in Bua, Macuata, Cakaudrove and Taveuni.
Divisional Planning Officer Ratu Eliki Tikoidraubuta said they have worked closely with the Water Authority of Fiji to cart water to schools and nursing stations.
Tikoidraubuta said they are also carting water for people in Vuna and Navakawau in Taveuni despite the heavy rains experienced in the last few days.
Tikoidraubuta added the government is fully committed to providing assistance to affected areas in the next two months until the rainy season begins.
