The Boundaries Commission is still waiting for the final census report from the Bureau of Statistics office before beginning their work to prepare for the next general elections.
Chairperson Suresh Chandra told Village News that firstly the commission needs to do a Boundary Definition and names of the boundaries under the 1997 Constitution and Electoral Act. Chandra said in order to do this they need some data.
He added that he is also expected to meet with the Bureau of Statistics officials and Deputy Supervisor of elections this week.
The Electoral Commission is awaiting relevant reports from the Boundaries Commission and Bureau of Statistics before announcing the dates for the next general elections.
The Bureau of Statistics is expected to comment later today.
