The Legal Aid Commission is hopeful that more funding will be provided for their expansion program next year.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Director Legal Aid Filimoni Vosarogo revealed that one of the problems faced by the Commission is lack of funding.
He also added that reasons for the delays in processing applications is mostly due to the small number of lawyers and increasing number of applicants.
He added that they could employ more lawyers depending on the budget allocated to them.
Meanwhile, the Commission is expected to open up its office in Ba next month while two offices in Nadi and Nausori are expected to open by next year.
