The Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Communication, Amena Yauvoli said their Ministry will now investigate if Channel Two Televisions has used a local shareholder in the company to obtain a free to air television licenses.
It came to light yesterday that Mike Brook who is also the Managing Director of Sunny Brook's Holdings Fiji Limited has resigned from the Director's position at Channel Two Television.
However, Brook said he still owns 51% of the shares in the company.
Youvoli said they cannot say much at this stage as they need to investigate the matter.
Brook has revealed that Channel Two Television was unable to obtain a license for the past few years because it could not fulfill some of the requirements set by the Communications Ministry.
He claims it was through his 51% shares that the company was able to obtain a license.
However, Channel Two's Chairman, Ken Stratton said his company has not in any way used Brook to obtain the free to air television license and they have followed all proper procedures.
