Commerce Commission seeks clarification from MH
Commission Chairman Dr Mahendra Reddy met with the General Manager, Director and Group Financial Controller of MH's to discuss their concern regarding the Loyalty card known as the Flash and Gain card.
Reddy said it was also agreed that the Commission will submit to MH's a list of issues to be dealt with in regards to Flash and Gain Card usage and administration, the Commission has given a deadline of two weeks to MH's to respond to the issues raised and how it wishes to address these issues and following a response from MH's, the Commission will then decide on the next step.
Dr Reddy said the Commission has noted a number of issues with regards to the use of Flash and Gain cards that could lead people to believing that MH may have been engaged in unfair and undesired trade practices in the retail sector.
He said the Commission has further reason to believe that if it is true then such practices may further escalate with the introduction of any new card.
Commerce Commission last week received a complaint from the Consumer Council of Fiji on possible Anti Competitive Behaviour by MH's in the supermarket retail sector through its Flash and Gain Card in the country.
