The Commerce Commission has today concluded its investigation into the market power of FINTEL and its apparent monopoly status in Fiji.
Commission Chairman Dr Mahendra Reddy told Fijivillage News that FINTEL provides Fiji's gateway for communication to the rest of the world through the Southern Cross cable and the Commission conducted investigations to ascertain the cost of accessing FINTEL services by telecommunication providers who use the Southern Cross cable link from FINTEL Vatuwaqa station.
Dr. Reddy said the findings of the investigations into FINTEL's market power and monopoly status will be made public once the relevant stakeholders are informed.
This is expected later today.
