The Commerce Commission carries out its research before making a decision on submissions that they receive.
These are the words of Commerce Commission Chairman Dr Mahendra Reddy who was clarifying about their process of giving the green light on a submission following the confusion on the statement by the cabinet on Fiji Electricity Authority's increase in tariffs.
Dr Reddy says research work on the increase in tariffs started few weeks ago when they were told about it however they received a formal submission from FEA last week.
He adds that they are expected to finish their research work within the next two weeks.
Cabinet released a statement last Monday which announced an increase in FEA tariffs by 15 percent from September 1st this year.
