The parents of 5 year old Shavneet Kumar are trying to meet with the Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr Lepani Waqitakirewa today to discuss issues related to their son's health.
Shavneet's father Sanju Kumar said they were unable to meet Dr Lepani yesterday. He said his son's condition is worsening and they are still waiting for an official explanation from the doctors about what has actually happened to Shavneet and the next step that will be taken.
Meanwhile, Shavneet's Aunt Shobna Sharma said none of the family members or religious bodies are allowed to see Shavneet although the Interim Health Minister gave them the permission yesterday.
Interim Health Minister Dr Jona Senilagakali visited Shavneet yesterday and is hopeful that the young boy will regain consciousness soon. He said after initial investigations they suspect that Shavneet may have reacted to the anesthetics which caused him to go into a coma.
