National 15’s coach Ilivasi Tabua has promised the players from the 6 franchise teams taking part in the Colonial Cup competition that they will be carefully monitored.
Speaking to Village Sports, Tabua said the competition is a path way for players who are vying for a spot in the national team to show the selectors that they are ready to be included in the Fiji Barbarians or Warriors teams for the Pacific 6 Nations.
The 2008 Colonial Cup competition gets underway on Friday night at 6pm with defending champion Stallions hosting the Highlanders and on Saturday at 3pm the Crusaders takes on the Knights.

Another Colonial Cup match that will be held on Saturday is between the Sharks and the Bligh Roosters which kicks off at 3pm at Garvey Park in Tavua.
