Police have taken a 35 year old man into custody whose car collided head on with a carrier in Koronivia at 5:30 this morning.
Regional Traffic Officer Eastern, Inspector Viliame Caqusau has confirmed the man was drunk during the time of the accident.
Caqusau said they are waiting for the man to get sober after which he will be questioned.
According to Caqusau, the man was returning from one of the nightclubs in Nausori when the accident occurred.
The man who was driving the private car was coming towards Suva, lost control and went in the opposite lane hitting the oncoming truck.
Two women who were sitting at the back seat of the car sustained some injuries and were treated at Nausori hospital.
Meanwhile, two other people from Nausori were taken into custody last night for driving under the influence of liquor and will appear in court today.
