Organisers of the 2016 Coca Cola Games say the competition on day one will not start early as most of the athletes will still be arriving in Suva.
Games Director Vuli Waqa said this decision has been discussed with the Education Ministry.
The 100 and 400 metres heats and Round 1 of the field events will be held on Day 1 which is on Thursday 28th April.
The events on Thursday will be held from 4pm to 8pm.
All track and field events finals will be held on Friday and Saturday.
The Coca Cola Games will be held from the 28th to the 30th of this month at the ANZ Stadium.
