I am duty bound to help my country!
Those are the words of Former Home Affairs Minister in the SDL led government, Joketani Cokanasiga, who will be sworn in as the Interim Minister for Forests and Fisheries next Monday.
Cokanasiga confirms that he was invited by the Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama to join his cabinet.
And Cokanasiga is not bothered about the reactions from the SDL or others to his appointment as he says he is duty bound to help move Fiji forward.
The Interim Minister Designate said they have accepted that he will not be able to meet his children who reside overseas due to the travel restrictions expected to be placed on him.
Cokanasiga was replaced as Home Affairs Minister in 2005 by ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase.
He will be sworn in by President Ratu Josefa Iloilo on Monday at Government House.
