Coach believes players will shine
Nadi lock forward Semi Kunatani, New Zealand based Jona Tuitoga and Yamacia speedster Mosese Mawalu will make their debut for Fiji while Namosi and Wardens flyer Leo Naikasau will get his first taste of the World Series after representing Fiji at the Pacific Mini Games this year.
Ben Ryan said these four players can make the difference for Fiji this week.
The Digicel Fiji 7s team’s first game is against USA at 8.16 tonight, then Canada at 12.46am tomorrow before facing England in their last pool match at 5.02am.
Fiji is likely to meet either Australia or Wales in the Cup quarterfinals barring any upsets.
If Fiji progresses, then they are expected to face either New Zealand or South Africa in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, the national women’s 7s side will play Tunisia at 11:40 tonight in the Bowl quarterfinal after losing to New Zealand 33-7 and USA 24-19 and beating Ireland 33-5.
