Good news for close to 700 people of the Vatukoula mining community as Mining Company Westech Limited has confirmed, that it will start employing more people in days to come as the mine operations started two days ago on Friday.
Director, Brian Wessan confirms they will soon be employing around 600 to 700 people.
Wessan has also assured that those miners who were laid off their jobs will be given first priority if they apply for a position at the company.
Meanwhile, FIRCA's Acting CEO Jitoko Tikolevu has confirmed that Westech Company can start work at mines as they have already paid the owed amount to FIRCA.
Tikolevu could not confirm if the company owes more in taxes to FIRCA.
