Clermont has suffered a setback ahead of this weekend’s Top 14 final against Stade Français with Fijian winger Noa Nakaitaci ruled out.

The 24-year-old Fijian born finisher, who made his debut for France in a 2013 non-cap match against the Blues in New Zealand, is out with a knee injury.

Nakaitaci has injured his right knee but does not require surgery.

It will require a rest period of between six to eight weeks and will also be a concern to France head coach Philippe Saint-Andre, who named him in his 36-man World Cup training squad last month.

Nakaitaci will miss the start of the camp.

He represented Lautoka in 2008 and captained the national under 19 side in 2009.

Nakaitaci attended Tilak High School and RKS before moving to France in 2009 to pursue his rugby dream.

He is originally from Naluwai in Naitasiri.
