The landslide clearing work currently being done at Saint Bedes College in Savusavu has taken a little longer than expected with school expected to open next week.
The Ministry of Education had issued a statement saying that the school was expected to open this morning however; the school revealed that they are still working on the site and have the services of only one digger at the moment.
Last week a landslide as a result of the rainy weather conditions saw around 700 students from St Bedes and Saint Andrews Primary School told to return home until they were given the all-clear from the school.
Meanwhile, the Ministry Education has given as grant to the schools to ensure that classes resume as soon as possible.
