Police are questioning a farmer of Dogotuki for allegedly raping a class 8 student this week.
Media Liaison officer Atunaisa Sokomuri had confirmed the farmer accompanied the girl to a nearby village and on their way, he allegedly assaulted the girl, took her to a cassava patch and allegedly raped her.
A fellow villager who saw the farmer allegedly raping the girl, alerted other villagers.
The man had been charged with one count of rape and is expected to appear in court today.
The 13-year-old student sustained injuries during the attack.
