Civilians Arrested For Helping Escape Prisoners
Deputy Director Police Operations, SP Erami Raibe has confirmed that the prison authorities discovered them missing after a head count and officers have been dispatched around Suva, Nasinu and Nausori to hunt for the four.
Those on the run are 20 year old Tevita Vakatalai of Nadonumai, 27 year old Villiame Gauna of Vusuya Nausori, 34 year old Apeti Kula of Bau Tailevu and 27yr old Sitiveni Baleisomosomo of Nananu, Tailevu.
According to SP Raibe, four civilians of a settlement in Samabula have also been taken into custody for allegedly providing the prisoners with civilian clothing.
He said the Ready Action Force and Detectives are following some leads.
Meanwhile a fifth escapee was arrested at the Suva seawall hours after they broke out of prison yesterday afternoon.
