As Civil Service Public Exhibition week begins at Lautoka's Churchill Park this morning, PSC chairman, Josefa Serulagilagi, has encouraged all civil servants to become more responsive and efficient in attending to the needs and development aspirations of members of the public.

Serulagilagi is calling on all civil servants to reach out to the people they serve with information, advisory services and guidance that would pave the way for improving the standard and quality of their lives.

Serulagilagi added the move to have the launch of the Civil Service Public Exhibition Week in the first half of the year was strategic to improve the visibility of the work of the Civil Service.

According to Serulagilagi the Civil Service exists to serve many stakeholders and its needs to do this with high levels of efficiency, responsiveness and most of all simplicity.

The launch of the Civil Service Public Exhibition Week also heralds the beginning of the Civil Service Excellence Programme 2010.

The Exhibition Week is also organised at the High Court grounds in Labasa.
