Civil servants will have to wait a little longer for the full restoration of their paycut back to March 2007 to actually take place, as their employer wants to appeal the Employment Tribunal decision yesterday.
Public Service Commission Chairman, Dr Mohammed Yunus said it is their right to challenge the decision of the tribunal, which ruled that 2 percent be restored in three months and the other 2 percent to be restored in six months.
The Fijian Teachers Association, President Tevita Koroi said they are not surprised about the PSC wanting to appeal however adding they are happy with the decision of the Tribunal to order the back pay as they did follow all procedures.
