The Public Service Commission has started recruiting and promoting all civil servants on three year contracts to improve their performance across the board.
PSC Permanent Secretary Parmesh Chand told Fijivillage that this is based on the State Services Decree and will include civil servants in essential services like teachers and nurses.
Meanwhile, the PSC Chairman Josefa Serulagilagi said they have approved the broad framework for the Road Map for civil service reforms and they are now working on preparing policy papers for each of the civil service reform initiatives that have been approved.
