This year's Civil Service Public Week is set to kick off in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa today and the main aim is to showcase to the people of Fiji how tax dollars are being utilised by each government ministry.

Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Commission Parmesh Chand said the Prime Minister wants the Civil Service Week to be held earlier in the year to ensure that members of the public are fully aware of the work of the ministries and the changes that are being brought about through reforms.

For Suva, the ministries will have booths at Sukuna Park from today to Friday.

However, Chand stressed that there will be no road closure, grog drinking or playing cards at the ministry booths as directed by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.
