A group of selected individuals and government departments have been commended for their achievements and performances for the year that has been judged to be exceptional.
Speaking to more than 700 civil servants, dignitaries, cabinet ministers at the Service Excellence Awards last night at Novotel Lami, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said all civil servants contribute to building a better Fiji, however the winners have gone beyond the call of duty.
He adds the Government is determined to root out the wrong doers and the slackers, and that if there is corruption, people will be dealt with by the full force of the law.
Eleven Ministries received the Achievement Level award while seven ministries received the Commitment Level award.
There were 27 agencies that participated.
