Military, Police and other Civil Servants can apply for taxi permits however they will have to meet a special criteria.
Land Transport Authority Spokesperson, Doreen Narayan confirmed that Civil Servants must present an authorisation letter from Public Service Commission stating that they can apply for the permit.
She added that other criteria's in getting a taxi permit remains the same.
Narayan also said that anyone can apply for the permit as long as they meet the requirement but LTA staffs are prohibited from applying because of conflict of interest.
