Although Civil servants pay has been restored last month, they will be hoping that the ruling on the 5% restoration to be back dated which is before Chief Tribunal will be made in their favour this year.

The Confederation of Public Sector Union which includes the Fiji Public Service Association and the Fiji Teachers Union have filed necessary submissions giving evidence that civil servants 5% pay cut should be backdated to 2007 as earlier agreed. FPSA general secretary, Rajeshwar Singh had confirmed earlier that other issues are also included in these submissions.

In their submissions the Public Service Commission has filed that they are not in the position to accommodate for the back pay.

The 5% back pay restoration dispute before Chief Tribunal will be called on the 19th and 20th of this month for hearing.
