Civil servants are always used as a scapegoat whenever government faces financial difficulties.
These were the words of the Fijian Teachers Association General Secretary Maika Namudu who said they would like the five percent pay cut to be restored which was deducted earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the FTA also said they have a number of demands which they would like the interim government to consider in the 2008 budget.
Namudu said they would like the interim government to re-look at the blue print under the Affirmative Action for Fijian Education which has been suspended by the Fijian Affairs Ministry.
He said they would like the Ministry to continue with its job and allocate money for it.
He also added that they would like government to consider grants for boarding schools and an increment in the service allocation for the teachers.
The Budget would be announced on 23rd November.
