A civil servant working for the Attorney General's office appeared in the Suva Magistrates court yesterday afternoon charged with one count of rape.
Divisional Prosecuting officer Souther ASP Epeli Talakubu had confirmed 35-year-old Laqani Tokalauvere appeared before Magistrate Amaniasi Katonivualiku and was released on $500 bail.
No plea was taken and the case had been adjourned to the 17th of next month.
He is alleged to have raped a 22-year-old student in April this year.
